George Melton: Through the Years

"Through the Years" takes listeners on a musical journey through the life of George Melton.  Beginning in the 1950's with a cappella numbers from his college days, the album includes songs from each group he sang with and the most requested of his songs with the Melton's.  Mixing beloved favorites with today's latest in Southern Gospel, "Through the Years" uses George Melton's high tenor to thrill listeners one more time.

Combining the recordings from eleven separate albums recorded in almost as many studios by five different groups can prove quite challenging. Most of these recordings were preserved on vinyl long-play records (the master tapes are long gone).

We have diligently searched for copies of the records in the best possible condition. By utilizing some very old technology combined with some very sophisticated computer software, we have tried to restore the sounds with the fewest snaps, crackles, and pops while maintaining a true musical tone. The monophonic recordings were enhanced for stereophonic listening.

Recordings from analogue tape were processed to reduce hiss when necessary. We've done everything possible to restore and preserve these example of classic Southern Gospel.

It is our hope that you will enjoy the sounds of these songs through the years as much as the performances.
